As someone who's grappled with stage fright, I've discovered that understanding our brain's workings can be a game changer. The human brain, a complex and fascinating organ, is divided into two hemispheres, each responsible for different but equally important functions. In the high-stress situation of public speaking, the right hemisphere – which deals with emotional processing and our fight, flight, or freeze response – can sometimes take the wheel. This can lead to overwhelming emotions and instinctual reactions that cloud our thinking.

But there's hope! By actively engaging our left hemisphere, known for its prowess in logical thinking, analytical abilities, and language, we can gain control over these instinctual reactions. This shift allows us to organize our thoughts more effectively, articulate our ideas clearly, and manage our emotional responses, turning a potentially nerve-wracking experience into an empowering one.

In addition to this brain hack, I'll also guide you through a powerful exercise: asking what you want your audience to think, feel, and do. This strategy will not only help you connect with your audience on a deeper level but also give you a clearer direction for your speech.
